Kings Of Leon & Jay-Z = Rock & Rap Superstars
Last night (October 15th) at the Nokia Theater in Downtown LA, I had the pleasure of photographing and watching one of my favorite rock bands ... Kings Of Leon. The boys were nothing short of amazing, but I really didn't expect anything less as I have never seen them put on a bad show and they are just awesome to look at.

Kings Of Leon's 1 hour and 15 minute set consisted mostly of tracks off their old albums 'Because of the Times' and 'Young and Young Manhood'. I really have been digging the sexy rock drowned in-nasal vocal sound off their new album 'Only By the Night' so it was great to hear 'Crawl' and 'Sex on Fire' performed live. It seems like Kings Of Leon had the most energy when playing their new tunes! Are they sick of their old sound, but just playing to please their fans?

To avoid the crowd I bailed out of the Nokia Theatre before the Kings Of Leon encore and I twittered: "KOL was great now home to sleep unless someone tells me they have my in to Jay-Z"At around 11:00 pm I arrived at the Hollywood Palladium probably bringing the head count to 4,001 since the 4,000 person max capacity venue was packed full with fans, celebrities and industry peeps. Celebrating the re-opening of the Hollywood Palladium headliner Jay-Z pulled out all his hits into a half hour scratch set ending his 2 hour performance. He refreshed his fans memories with the likes of 'Hard Knock Life', 'H to the Izzo', 'Big Pimpin', '99 Problems' and 'Feelin' It'.
Every track Jay-Z performed reminded you how much money the man really has, since just about all the songs he performed certainly topped the charts at some point in time. It was exciting to see DJ AM stand by Jay-Z's side as his right man DJ, since it was DJ AM's first performance since surviving a deadly plane crash last month.
Jay-Z ended the show in saying something like it was a historic night for him and he hopes it was one for all of us. Well even though I can't quote him exactly he couldn't have said it any better. It most certainly will go down in my books as an extremely eventful music evening!
