No Doubt and Gwen Stefani Still Have It Going On and Paramore Is Back
If you were not waiting in line to get into the Twilight panel at Comic-Con then I really hope you were at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, CA last night. Fans of The Sounds, Paramore and No Doubt all united under one roof at Universal Studios for a pretty epic show.
The Sounds brought the electronic pop music to the Gibson, as the opening act for Paramore and No Doubt. Maja Ivarsson is a wonder to watch on stage. She totally knows how to work the crowd and get a rise out of the audience, with her sexual innuendos to her bandmates and her constant lifting of her skirt.
The Sounds recently put out a new album Crossing The Rubicon and they performed 2 tracks off that record. Fans of course responded way better to the songs they could sing along to such as 'Hurt You' and 'Ego'. That must be tough for a band to break out their new tracks when their past hit songs are a guarenteed hit during a performance.
On that note ...
Drum roll please ... Paramore is back! Josh entered the stage first, pounded on the drums and let the audience know they were not here to mess around. Then everyone entered the stage and Hayley came on dancing around, jumping up and down and smiling up a storm.
Hayley had been twittering all day that she felt sick, but one would never be able to tell. Her energy is impeccable. Hayley makes it impossible not to feel the mood and feel the positive vibe from Paramore's music. They opened with 'Misery Business' and the crowd went wild. Surprise surprise!
After the 3rd song Hayley felt the need to introduce the band, which was pretty hilarious, because I don't think a person in the Gibson Amphitheatre last night could have possibly not known who Paramore is. The 5th song they performed titled 'Ignorance' is off Paramore's upcoming new record Brand New Eyes. 'That’s What You Get' was the 6th song they performed and Hayley dedicated it to their bus driver John Brown. How cute!
It was so nice to see them perform again. Last year I had the pleasure of seeing them about 6 times, but after a few months of them being in the studio writing their new record, I started to miss their shows. You can tell by their entrance to the stage that they are ready to be back on tour, back in front of their fans constantly performing. Yeah!!!

By 9:45 pm it was time for the headliner No Doubt to hit the stage. This is the first southern California show for No Doubt on this tour, so it was certainly a star-studded and family affair. The white curtains dropped and the show began. No Doubt made sure to capture the audiences attention with their opening songs including 'Spiderwebs', 'Hella Good' and 'Underneath It All'.

Just about every No Doubt song performed was one that evoked a memory or a familiar sound. Gwen Stefani is so ridiculously awesome. Can i please have her boots?

Gwen told the audience that this was No Doubt's 14th time performing at the Gibson Amphitheatre and that it feels as good as the first time to be back. No Doubt fans can continue to reminisce all summer long over their favorite No Doubt memories and past songs, but come fall I am expecting some new music in the works.
