Ah, hardcore band musicians. You know that deep down they have a sensitive side. At least, Jeremy McKinnon the vocalist for A Day To Remember , was willing to reveal a little of his when Buzznet went Behind Closed Doors with him. Sure, he made sure to impress upon us his serious hardcore credentials (including, uh, a forehead scar), but he also let it be known that he rocks Harry Potter posters on his walls. Starfucker is just the type of band that you want to see when you are in the mood for some dancing and potentially putting the moves on the person next to you on the dance floor. After seeing Starfucker's performance tonight at The Echo in Los Angeles I am going to guess that Ryan Biornstad (the lead vocals) has just about the best pickup lines and probably has a really cute bed spread. Why I am even thinking these thoughts? I guess maybe because we can only hope that the members of Starfucker are as smooth with the ladies as they are with their instrumentals and playful music. In honor of March 26th being Make Up Your Own Holiday Day, Buzznet ran a contest where we let the community members dictate what holiday we should celebrate. First band I saw was also my favorite band I saw yesterday and they go by the name of Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. Energy may have been the band's strongest asset, which for me stage presence dictates all. If you don't get to check them out at SXSW they will be opening on tour with Lily Allen through April. While Wesley Miles (lead vocalist of Ra Ra Riot) is not on stage singing and driving the ears of his fans wild with his exuberent and irresistable vocals, you might just find him on the tour bus doing push ups or canoeing with some friends. I can't imagine that Jack Barakat had an easy time going through the 400 + entries that were submitted to the JAGK Yourself contest. I do however believe that he loved looking at himself all over the contestants. With that said after careful consideration Jack himself has narrowed it down and with some help from a panel of judges the winners have been chosen. Drumroll...

Cinema Bizarre has just announced that they will be heading out on Lady GaGa's The Fame Ball Tour starting March 12th in San Diego, CA. Lady GaGa received lots of attention over the last few months for her hit single 'Just Dance' and she has spent the last few months touring as the opening slot for the Pussycat Dolls, but mid March the Pussycat Dolls will ditch her for Britney Spears. Apparently the lady is ready to show off as a headliner and she will be bringing Cinema Bizarre - the glitziest German boys she could find to support her glam on tour! Details ...

I would say that in 2008 most everyone can find themselves guilty (or not guilty) for embracing at least one of these common musical trends:
- Okaying of the electronic dance music outside of the rave (Justice, Ratatat).
- Accepting more pop and mainstream rap into our homes (Lil Wayne, Lady GaGa).
- Discovering the indie talent on tour with one of your favorite bands (Paper Route, The Ting Tings).
- Finding disappointment in the the emo-ish winey sounds that used to make you somehow happy (Fall Out Boy).

Trends are a good thing, because it means we can always expect something new and this something new might just accommodate the needs and desires for our short attention span. You still with me?
