March 26, 2009Behind Closed Doors: Jeremy McKinnon (A Day To Remember)Ah, hardcore band musicians. You know that deep down they have a sensitive side. At least, Jeremy McKinnon the vocalist for A Day To Remember , was willing to reveal a little of his when Buzznet went Behind Closed Doors with him. Sure, he made sure to impress upon us his serious hardcore credentials (including, uh, a forehead scar), but he also let it be known that he rocks Harry Potter posters on his walls. Get to know Jeremy... Related Groups:

Starfucker Delivers A Crowd-Pleasing Performance In L.A.
Starfucker is just the type of band that you want to see when you are in the mood for some dancing and potentially putting the moves on the person next to you on the dance floor. After seeing Starfucker's performance tonight at The Echo in Los Angeles I am going to guess that Ryan Biornstad (the lead vocals) has just about the best pickup lines and probably has a really cute bed spread. Why I am even thinking these thoughts? I guess maybe because we can only hope that the members of Starfucker are as smooth with the ladies as they are with their instrumentals and playful music. More on Starfucker ...

March 25, 2009March 26th On Buzznet Is Crayon Appreciation Day
In honor of March 26th being Make Up Your Own Holiday Day, Buzznet ran a contest where we let the community members dictate what holiday we should celebrate. It was a hard choice in deciding what the official holiday for March 26th should be, but after a lot of consideration we decided that we want to put down our markers, hide our pencils, put the pens in the drawer and break out our classic box of CRAYONS! Celebrate with us here ...

March 23, 2009Bands That Made Me Leave SXSW 2009 Wanting More Live Music
In no particular order except maybe one and two, because they really did it for me ... I hope to see this list of bands a dozen more times in 2009. I hope that you Buzzneters also take a bit of my experience with these bands and bring it to your own iPods or ticket purchases in 2009. If I was rewarded a trophy for having the most fun at SXSW 2009 I would for sure have to thank these 10 bands in my acceptance speech. Read on to find out who I heart ...

March 20, 2009SXSW 2009: 3/19/09 Sweet & Short Round-Up
First band I saw was also my favorite band I saw yesterday and they go by the name of Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. Energy may have been the band's strongest asset, which for me stage presence dictates all. If you don't get to check them out at SXSW they will be opening on tour with Lily Allen through April. Pics and roundup...

March 18, 2009First SXSW Day: Bad Things Happen In Three
Pretty much today hates my guts. Literally my guts.
I started off the morning by puking first in my bathroom and then twice on my way to pick up Redpatterndress in the cab to go to the airport. Yup that's right I covered a few of the streets in West Hollywood with the Trader Joes Pizza Olympiad I stuffed my face with last night at 2:30 am when I got home from Cinespace from Kid Cudi. March 16, 2009Hoof It To "Rockville, CA," For A Closer Look At Your Fave BandsYou might not recognize Alexandra Patsavas' name, but odds are you're waaaay familiar with her work. After all, she's a huge part of why we heart Gossip Girl and Twilight; she's the lady with mad style who picks out all the awesome tunage to appear in the background of your fave scenes and on-screen moments. Patsavas didn't let me raid her iTunes, but she did let me ask her a few questions regarding a new web show called Rockville, CA, for which she also has coordinated the music. Read on...

March 15, 2009Behind Closed Doors: Wesley Miles The Lead Vocalist Of Ra Ra Riot Quits Dog SittingWhile Wesley Miles (lead vocalist of Ra Ra Riot) is not on stage singing and driving the ears of his fans wild with his exuberent and irresistable vocals, you might just find him on the tour bus doing push ups or canoeing with some friends. Thank goodness Wesley had so many miserable jobs during the summer of 2003 or else Ra Ra Riot may not be where they are now. Trust me and read on... Related Groups:

March 5, 2009JAGK Yourself Contest WinnersI can't imagine that Jack Barakat had an easy time going through the 400 + entries that were submitted to the JAGK Yourself contest. I do however believe that he loved looking at himself all over the contestants. With that said after careful consideration Jack himself has narrowed it down and with some help from a panel of judges the winners have been chosen. Drumroll...

March 4, 2009Cinema Bizarre Supporting Lady GaGa On US Tour
Cinema Bizarre has just announced that they will be heading out on Lady GaGa's The Fame Ball Tour starting March 12th in San Diego, CA. Lady GaGa received lots of attention over the last few months for her hit single 'Just Dance' and she has spent the last few months touring as the opening slot for the Pussycat Dolls, but mid March the Pussycat Dolls will ditch her for Britney Spears. Apparently the lady is ready to show off as a headliner and she will be bringing Cinema Bizarre - the glitziest German boys she could find to support her glam on tour! Details ...

March 3, 2009SXSW 2009 Will Set Trends Of Happy Sounds And Dance Music
I would say that in 2008 most everyone can find themselves guilty (or not guilty) for embracing at least one of these common musical trends:
- Okaying of the electronic dance music outside of the rave (Justice, Ratatat). - Accepting more pop and mainstream rap into our homes (Lil Wayne, Lady GaGa). - Discovering the indie talent on tour with one of your favorite bands (Paper Route, The Ting Tings). - Finding disappointment in the the emo-ish winey sounds that used to make you somehow happy (Fall Out Boy). Trends are a good thing, because it means we can always expect something new and this something new might just accommodate the needs and desires for our short attention span. You still with me?
